How vaccines can save your life and your children´s

For more than 200 years, vaccines have played a leading role in taking care of the lives of human beings throughout the planet, and during pandemics, their role has become more present in society, with many controversies, doubts, and fears.

Experts say that vaccines and clean water have been in history the two greatest tools to save the most lives worldwide.
A vaccine is a substance that is applied to the human body and generates a defense that stimulates the immune system. In this way, when the body is exposed to the virus or bacteria, it can neutralize it if the person is fully vaccinated.
To really fight a disease, it is necessary that 90% of the population have received a vaccine. Getting vaccinated is an act of love and defense not only for yourself but also for your family and your whole community.

Your role in this crusade against Covid is very important; you are a key element to fight the pandemic by vaccinating yourself and enabling your family to do so as well.

Many times you may have had doubts about whether to apply the vaccine and give it to your children. Perhaps because of fear of collateral effects or because of not knowing what they contain or how they work. It is true that with Covid, we face an unusual situation: we are witnessing the development of vaccines “live” as if it were a reality show, and adverse effects are being published in the media, causing panic and alarm. But the results in general and in a much greater proportion are positive. There is a lot of fake news about vaccines and their effects that are shared on social media only seeking sensationalism.

The fact that the age of those who contract Covid goes down shows that the older adult population that is being vaccinated is no longer contracting the disease by virtue of the vaccine. Countries, such as Israel, have already vaccinated 90% of those over 60 years and have seen how the hospitalization rate dropped abruptly. The country is already in almost total normality, which we all aspire to achieve worldwide.

For example, in the United States, masks are no longer used in public places: in New Jersey, fully vaccinated workers will be able to stop wearing them indoors starting this week. In the fall, they are expecting to begin school normally. In Florida, State Surgeon General Scott Rivkees announced a similar resolution. There, more than 9 million people have been vaccinated, and hospitalizations have dropped drastically.
Lots of older adults fear, in addition to these possible adverse effects, the fact that they have not received vaccinations since they were children or that they do not have health insurance. Many of them feel that because they take care of themselves, they will not contract Covid, so they believe they do not need to get vaccinated.

There are no drugs or substances that are effective against Covid, nor other vaccines such as pneumonia. The only way to save lives is to apply any of the doses authorized by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) that are those of Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson laboratories, (this one is a single dose).

In Boyle Heights, we have all of them, and you can apply them safely from the age of 16, making an appointment. You do not need to present any type of immigration document or have health insurance.
